Walking Tour on Fishing Town
遠洋漁業で栄えた時代が偲ばれる港町の盛り場を散歩。室戸の美食どころや神社仏閣、個性的な商店などをご案内します。
You will walk a fishing town where used to be the biggest town in Muroto. There are local restaurants serving local cuisine, temples and shrines, and unique local shops around this area.
プログラム
ツアーの舞台は室戸一の繁華街・室津港周辺。室戸の港って、実はとてもユニークなんです。地震のたびに大地が隆起することで港の水深が浅くなり、その都度港の底が掘り下げられてきました。商店や人家がある町（「港の上」と地元の人は呼ぶ）と、港との落差が8.4mもある独特の景観があります。地震が作り上げた景観の中で、地域の人がどんな暮らしと産業を紡いできたか見ていきます。
A main field of this tour is around Murotsu Port, the biggest town in Muroto. You will find unique topography of Murotsu Port. This unique fishing port has been formed by repeatedly occurring earthquakes which make the land uplift. Due to the land uplift, sea bottom of the port was excavated to maintain sea level. So, the town is about 8.4 above sea level. This guided tour tells you how locals have shaped their lives and industries living on the land formed by earthquakes.
